Att vara ukrainare och förstå sin historia har varit en svår väg för alla generationer, och vår generation är inget undantag.   Idag strider ukrainare återigen för självständighet, och återigen med vapen i sina händer. Efter decennier av bolsjevikisk ockupation och Rysslands hybridkrig mot Ukraina och mot vad det innebär att vara ukrainare. Ukrainare försvarar sin rätt att vara ett självständigt europeiskt land med demokratiska värderingar och friheter.   Vi försvarar vår rätt att tala vårt modersmål. Vår rätt att vara ukrainare. Ukrainare kommer aldrig att ge upp sin kamp för frihet som vi väderar högst av allt. Vårt ukrainska folk betalar högsta priset för friheten och självständigheten idag. Ukrainare har aldrig älskat sitt hemland så mycket som idag.   Dagens Ryssland rättfärdigar sin imperialism och invasion av Ukraina med att de kämpar mot nazismen och skyddar den rysktalande befolkningen. Vi har vittnat liknande retorik och handlingar under 1900-talets historia som i en nygammal form återuppstod år 2014 och nådde kulmen år 2022. Tredje Riket ledd av Hitler annekterar Sudetenlandet 1938 i Tjeckoslovakien. År 2014 annektererar Ryssland  Krym halvön i Ukraina. Världen ser på och hoppas att diktatorn har nöjt sig och kommer att lugna ner sig. Sudetenlandet likaså Krym offras av världssamfundet utan några större sanktioner och är ett exempel på hur misslyckad eftergiftspolitiken är i verkligheten. Hitler genomför anschluss av Österrike år 1938. Ryssland går in i Donbass regionen år 2014 och utropar separatistiska "folkrepubliker" Donetsk och Luhansk. Image projected in Gothenburg to commemorate Ukrainian POW killed by russians in Olenivka On the night of July 28-29th 2022 an explosion occurred on the territory of the former colony in the occupied Olenivka, Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders of Azovstal were withdrawn by order in May 2022 and were waiting for exchange. A horrible war crime, a mass murder of disarmed defenders was committed. The heroes of Azov were burned alive - the tragedy that will have no forgiveness.   Ukraine has identified  the bodies of 53 Azov defenders, 130 heroes  were injured. The exact number of the victims is still unknown.   The explosion in Olenivka was a planned terrorist act by russian army to cover up torture and detention conditions of Ukrainian prisoners of war. One year has passed and neither the UN nor the Red Cross managed to access  Olenivka for thorough investigation. The UN investigative group was created in August 2022 but stopped its mission without any conclusions. ...

  Since the start of the full-scale war of Russia in Ukraine, we have witnessed numerous events and activities in support of Ukraine. Many voices world over have been heard on the topic of the war in Ukraine. There have been created NGO’s in support of Ukraine, panel discussions have taken place, articles and books have been released. We are grateful to individuals and organizations who sincerely support Ukrainians and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their fight for freedom.   What brought our attention since the war started is that Russians are often invited to take part in the events, activities, and panel discussions on the war in Ukraine as equal voices to Ukrainians.   On the morning of the 6th of June, the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant across the Dnipro River has been destroyed by fascist russian forces. This horrific crime constitutes one of the largest man-made disasters in the 21st century.   What are the consequences? Hundred of thousands of people will be affected in the flooded areas requiring evacuation. Many settlements in Southern Ukraine will experience a shortage of water supply. In addition, the situation with cooling Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant can reach emergency as the cooling systems use water from the Kakhovka reservoir.   One thing to remember about russia is its disregard for human life.   Worrisome information is coming from the reconnaissance units in the occupied Crimea in Ukraine. As reported by Ukrinform the russian military is preparing a provocation at the chemical plant the Crimean Titan in Armyansk with the aim to blame Ukraine. Crimea Titan is the largest manufacturer of titanium dioxide pigment in Eastern Europe. High concentration of titanium dioxide poses a mortal danger to the population in the affected areas. This information proves yet another time that every day of the presence of the occupiers in Ukraine increases the chance of nuclear or chemical tragedy. Only unconditional Ukrainian victory can guarantee the safety of Europe and should be supported till the time when the last russian occupier leaves its territory.

During today's manifestation in the center of Gothenburg many people of different nationalities came up to ask questions and express their support and solidarity with Ukraine. We spoke with representatives from Sweden, Estonia, Iran, Thailand who were united by the idea of victory for Ukraine.    One man approached us and shared his childhood memory when Hitler declared war in Europe. In his opinion, today's Russia led by Putin and supported by ordinary Russians is a worse evil than Hitler and the Nazis.   The purpose of today's manifestation in Göteborg is to remind the Swedish community that Russia is a terrorist state and that the victory of Ukraine is the victory of whole Europe.
